A solid American black walnut box with a lift-off lid and a lift-out compartmented tray. The lid is inlayed with a geometric pattern in American black walnut and maple. The internal bases of the box and tray are veneered in pearwood.

FINISH: Traditional brushed shellac polish

CARE: Avoid extremes of heat; avoid placing the box in a damp place; do not store anything damp in the box. Any of these actions may damage the box beyond repair. Polish occasionally with a good quality beeswax polish.
Wood is a natural product; the material used to construct the box has been selected to give the best stability consistent with its decorative aspect. Highly decorative boxes are more likely to exhibit some movement at joints or between veneers. In a centrally heated environment the box may show signs of cyclical movement following the heating / non-heating seasons.
The lift off lid should be fitted such that the two small circular depressions (one on the lid one on the base) are aligned.
