A large box with an mdf carcass. Externally veneered in walnut with a meander pattern motif on the lid in mahogany and sycamore. Internally lined in sycamore. Quadrant hinges.

FINISH: Melamine lacquer externally, shellac internally

CARE: Avoid extremes of heat; avoid exposing the box to prolonged dampness. Exterior can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Polish occasionally with a good quality beeswax polish.
Wood is a natural product; the material used to construct the box has been selected to give the best stability consistent with its decorative aspect. Highly decorative boxes are more likely to exhibit some movement at joints or between veneers. In a centrally heated environment the box may show signs of cyclical movement following the heating / non-heating seasons. x
Avoid forcing the lid back too far, this may damage the hinges.
