A sunburst box with a hinged lid. Built on an mdf carcass it features an unidentified burr veneer paired with mahogany for the sun's rays. Mahogany lines the inside and trims the edges. Brass quadrant hinges and catch.

FINISH: Melamine lacquer

CARE: Avoid extremes of heat; avoid exposing the box to prolonged dampness. Can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Polish occasionally with a good quality beeswax polish.
Wood is a natural product; the material used to construct the box has been selected to give the best stability consistent with its decorative aspect. Highly decorative boxes are more likely to exhibit some movement at joints or between veneers. In a centrally heated environment the box may show signs of cyclical movement following the heating / non-heating seasons.
Avoid forcing the lid back too far, this may damage the hinges.
